Jubilee
and Profession Day 2006
The eighth of January 2006 was a remarkable and joyous day for the Sisters
of the Holy Names and their families and friends. Early that morning the
Province was blessed by the three Sisters who professed their first vows,
Sisters Marcellina Konyana, Cecilia Matheso and Bernardette Rammoneng.
Later that day the church was packed to witness the final vows of Sisters
Regina Ntisa and Constance Selialia and celebrate 50 years of religious
life of Sisters M. Emmanuella and Aurelia Kabi. The most exciting part
of this jubilant occasion was that Sr. Aurelia Kabi drove her new golf
cart to the church amidst cheering from the Sisters who accompanied her.
The province was honoured by the presence of Bishop Hubert Bucher, Bishop
of Bethlehem, who was the presider of more than 20 Priests from Lesotho
and the Republic of South Africa, two Cabinet Ministers who are from Peka
Village, two members of the Senate from Regina and Constance's home places
respectively. There were women religious from different congregations
and St. Rose Parishioners and Good Shepherd Parishioners who came to rejoice
with sisters who made their first vows. Two of the new sisters came from
the parish in the Mohale's Hoek District, whilst the other new Sister
came from St. Ann, in Leribe District.
