Begun in June 2004 Paki Heath Centre is the most recent ministry of the Sisters of the Holy Names. Three sisters are working to establish the clinic. The Heath Centre provides nursing care, a well baby clinic, village health care workers and distribution of food to the needy. Patients come to the centre with diabetes, hypertension, HIV/AIDS, undernourished or with other acute or chronic diseases. As the sisters begin this ministry they are finding acceptance by the people they serve and a desire by the people for home base care. Yet they are faced with many challenges including a shortage of staff, lack of equipment, increasing number of orphans, poverty and trying to serve people with differing levels of knowledge and understanding. In the future the sisters would love to be able to home and school visits as well as deliver babies at the clinic, but the lack of staff and equipment prevent it from being done currently.
