Henriette
Céré was born in Longueuil. She was the regular teacher
of the family and of almost all of the children on de la Savane Road.
Her good reputation as a teacher brought her to the Wardens’
School, in front of Saint-Antoine church. It was in this building
that the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and
Mary started out in 1843
A
creative woman, this religious would transmit to the novices and professed
Sisters her art of teaching. She participated in the foundation of
the Convent of Saint-Timothée in 1848. Everywhere she went,
she would always be careful to create a pleasant environment. She
died at the age of 80 years old. (See
