SNJM Central Archives Services (CAS)

The Central Archives Services conserves fonds from the different convents where the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary have taught. Thus information on their educational institutions from 1843 to present times may be found there. Of the 670 fonds kept by the Central Archives Services, the descriptions of 78 fonds are available on the website of the Archives of Quebec (www.rdaq.qc.ca). The archives cover approximately 450 linear metres of document texts. They include over 10,000 photographs and approximately 2400 maps and plans. The reference library contains close to 1000 volumes.

The Central Archives Services has a suitable location and modern equipment which meets the standards of conservation and security. Four archivists work at classification, at the treatment and conservation of documents and at genealogical and historical research. They also welcome and receive researchers, by appointment only.
