News About Vancouver 2010!
We are happy to share the news that the Friday, February 8th edition
of The Gazette, Montreal's English language newspaper, carried
a brief article announcing that Canadian Justice Minister, Rob Nicholson,
had rejected the proposal to decriminalize prostitution presented
by some persons in Vancouver. (Prostitution comes under Criminal Law
and the jurisdiction of the Federal Government.) He also dismissed
the Vancouver group's hopes of opening "co-op" brothels
in time for the 2010 Olympics in that city!
The CLT will send a letter to Justice Minister Rob Nicholson thanking
him, on behalf of our Sisters and Associates, for his timely decision
on this issue and the message it sends of respect for the dignity
of all women. |
